Friday night at Shippensburg
CJ finished 2nd in his feature. Saturday sent the rocket
race team to Central PA Speedway. CJ started 7th in the
feature out of 16 karts. CJ used the draft to get up front
and was battling for the lead when a caution came out.
With only 5 laps to go, CJ fell behind on the start and
never had enough time to get back to the leaders and
finished 4th. Sunday was the PDKS race at Central PA
speedway. CJ started 3rd in Jr. II lite and never really
got any consistent drafting help and finished 3rd. In Jr.
II heavy, CJ started 4th and reached the lead draft after
a few laps, but just like in the first feature, CJ never
got any consistent drafting help and he finished 3rd. This
track was so big, with the leaders running nose to tail,
it's impossible to catch them if you can't get a good
drafting buddy. CJ is still in the points chase for Jr. II
Lite and moved back into 3rd place in points, in Jr. II
Heavy.

Friday night at Shippensburg
CJ finished 3rd in his heat, which put him in the 5th
starting spot for the feature. The track was moist and we
missed on the set-up and CJ finished 4th. We are now
focusing on the month of August. We have 3 PDKS races and
the final Burris Tire Series race, along with a $$ show at
Penns Creek and the weekly shows at Shippensburg.

Friday night Shippensburg
got rained out. Saturday the rocket race team went to
Hunterstown Speedway. CJ started 6th in his heat and won.
CJ also won the feature, bringing his feature total to 17
for the 2009 season! Sunday was back to Hunterstown for
the Burris Tire $$ Series. CJ time trialed 3rd out of 13
karts. After a few laps CJ grabbed the lead and started to
pull away from the field. CJ needed 6-7 laps to really get
rolling and after half way a few late race cautions flew
and CJ just never got those long runs that he needed to
get his kart rolling. CJ settled for 3rd, with Quentin
Graham grabbing the win. |
